I needed to get away.
Solution?
Travel home.
"Home" for me is a little town of 2,024 people.
A small farming community in Wisconsin.
Rustic,
calm,
quiet,
still.
My parents do not have T.V. or internet.
No house phone.
No loud neighbors.
Just peace and quiet.
The drive home was wonderful.
There's something about listening to Frank Sinatra
(singing "Night & Day"),
while driving through winding roads lined by cornfields,
and watching the sun set in pink hues over fall-colored fields,
that brings life to the soul.
I took in the crisp, deep colors of the landscape,
the serenity in the blueness of the sky...
and sighed with contentment.
I was coming home.
